Aloha!
The year seems to be moving along swiftly and we are already well into planning for both the Mid-Year Seminar this coming June in Singapore and for the annual conference next January in Honolulu.
The Mid-Year Seminar will be a showcase of PTC, covering important topics that are among our strengths and that complement CommunicAsia, with whom we are pleased to be partnering for this event. With so many PTC members in Singapore during the week of CommunicAsia, I would like to encourage everyone to participate.
A high quality program is planned that will include lively discussions, interviews and presentation formats by featured senior industry leaders in the areas of international wholesale transformation and developments in submarine cables. We are confirming invitations now and will be providing the full program shortly.
By now you are aware of the Call for Participation for PTC'09. Please take a few moments to look over the topic areas that our program committee has developed for the conference and see how you and your organization can participate. Proposals are due no later than 6 July.
In the secretariat, we are also making good progress on the development of our new website. Besides a new look and easy navigation, the site will include a number of member specific interactive features such as forums for member-led and special interest group discussions.
Shortly after the launch of the new website, we will also be rolling out the PTC'09 conference information by mid-June. This will include all the information needed for exhibitions, hotel reservations, sponsorships and advertising. And of course program information and featured speakers will be added as the program develops in the coming months. Online registration will also be available and we will again be linking with the meeting planning system to help with your networking opportunities during the conference.
PTC is well on track for another successful year and I hope to see you at the Mid-Year Seminar in Singapore on 19 June. As always, please do not hesitate to contact me about any matters concerning PTC, your membership, and opportunities for participation.
