Membership

Over 240 member organizations with more than 3,400 delegates and over 50 individual members comprise PTC's membership. Altogether, PTC's members represent more than 40 nations and a range of sectors across telecommunications, information and communication technology (ICT), and related industries.

PTC membership is open to any person or entity worldwide with professional interests in the Pacific region pertaining to telecommunications, information technology, or related fields.

Membership Categories & Rates

CATEGORIES

For-Profit

A for-profit entity is an organization that is commercial (i.e., for-profit) in nature. To join PTC, a for-profit entity must have a major interest in the Pacific region or be able to show a relationship with and an interest in the development of telecommunications in the region.

(Note: As part of the membership application process, each organization must submit an organizational overview and indicate the total number of employees the organization employs.)

Non-Profit

A non-profit entity is an organization that is officially designated as such within its state or country of origin. To join PTC, a non-profit entity must have a major interest in the Pacific region or be able to show a relationship with and an interest in the development of telecommunications in the area.

Examples of non-profit organizations include government ministries and departments, educational institutions, foundations, international organizations, and charities. Non-profit organizations do not include public or para-statal corporations such as a PTT. To determine whether an organization qualifies as a non-profit entity for membership purposes, please email membership@ptc.org.

Individual (Restricted)

Individual membership is restricted to professional researchers, academics, and retired telecommunication professionals who have made a notable contribution to the field. Individuals that are part of a PTC member organization may apply for individual membership in addition to the entity membership.

An individual member may not represent any entity or his or her own firm. Individual membership is not open to an officer or owner of a for-profit organization that is not an entity member of the Council, or to a person in a policy-making position with the ability to influence an organization to become a member of PTC.

(Note: Individual membership applicants are required to submit a curriculum vitae with their application.)

Affiliate (Restricted)

Affiliate membership is restricted to organizations that are unable to become full PTC members due to their bylaws or similar restrictions. Affiliate members may enjoy all benefits of membership except for voting in PTC elections and holding office.

(Note: Affiliate member applicants must prove that the applicant’s organization is not legally qualified to apply for membership in one of the other membership categories.)

Student (Restricted)

Student membership is restricted to bona fide full-time students.

(Note: Student membership applicants must provide proof of student status upon application and again for each membership renewal.)
