Conference Program Abstract The access of public ENUM servers is becoming more common among carriers for saving money on termination fees; but these are within closed networks. ENUM has the potential to allow P2P SIP-based PSTN calling if ENUM information is freely shared. Given the native ability of P2P SIP devices to use ENUM, what is stopping it? Who owns your number? Public ENUM networks could open up free P2P SIP phone/video calling and will pressure traditional and even IMS based carriers. |
