Mobile Television
Now that 3G has reached critical consumer mass in Asia’s leading mobile markets, a broad range of entertainment and information programming is available any time and anywhere. Operators are introducing a variety of commercial video and audio programming for cell phones and PDAs that combine traditional cell networks with latest satellite services, and 4G promises a whole new dimension of competition in high-bandwidth mobile services in the near future. . More than 30 different handsets can already access dozens of mobile TV, video and audio channels broadcast via satellite. Overall, the mobile television broadcast industry is poised for dramatic growth worldwide. This panel will address market opportunities, success factors, and the challenges that must be overcome to expand implementation of mobile video.
