ICT for Development
ICT has been demonstrated to be a catalyst for improving health, education, economic development, and government. But flashy demonstration projects often do not provide sustainable solutions to these important societal needs. In this panel the speakers will look at the community readiness and long-term sustainability of ICT solutions in technologically underserved communities in the Pacific region. What is the current state of ICT readiness? Who benefits and is being left out? How sustainable are current initiatives? What does it take to build and maintain sustainable ICT to support development?
