Telecom and Entertainment Media Converge

The entertainment world, like telecom, has been convulsed by the transformation to IP.  Content producers must evolve their traditional distribution of programming from broadcast, cable and DTH to include increasingly sophisticated strategies for web portals, on-demand services and personalized content for mobile phones.  Customer control is becoming less clear, as multiple players introduce compelling strategies for serving content to consumers when and where they want it.  Key business considerations such as program licensing, partner agreements, advertising metrics and digital rights management all must change with the times.  How do the entertainment industry and telecom find common ground?  What are the cool new platform technologies and devices on the horizon?  Will we see vertical integration of content producers and digital media distribution?  What are the key market and technology trends likely to impact the markets in this year?
