BRIAN SKIMMONS
Vice President and General Manager for Global IP/SkyReach and CIO, Loral Skynet, USA

Brian Skimmons serves as Loral Skynet’s vice president for Network Services and the SkyReachSM product line of satellite-delivered Internet services.  He and his team are responsible for leading and managing all business aspects of Skynet’s global IP services solutions. 

Brian joined Loral in 2000 as vice president of Internet services at CyberStar and progressively assumed greater management responsibilities, rising to vice president of global operations.  In this role, Brian oversaw the company’s worldwide engineering, operations, and customer support of its integrated satellite and terrestrial network.

Prior to joining Loral, Brian served in a number of senior leadership, management and engineering roles for financial, consulting, government, and military organizations. 

Brian earned bachelor’s and graduate degrees in engineering from the U.S. Naval Academy in Annapolis, MD and the U.S. Naval Postgraduate School in Monterey, CA. He also completed a master’s in technical management at The Johns Hopkins University in Baltimore, MD. Additionally, Brian holds several industry certifications, including Cisco Certified Internetwork Expert (CCIE) and Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP).
