The New Internet Model based on IPv6: Worldwide IPv6 Applications & IPv6 Deployment

IPv6 – the next generation of the IP protocol – has been designed to ensure continuity with today’s technology while enabling spectacular services for the future.  IPv6 overcomes the exhaustion of the IPv4 address space and supports many features that were not tightly designed or scalable in IPv4 like IP mobility, end-to-end connectivity, and ad hoc services.  It is also a stepping stone for IP ubiquity, making possible low cost deployment of large scale sensor networks, RFID, IP in the car and “IP on anything” for any imaginable scenario where networking can add value to a commodity. IPv6 is more than a protocol.  It is social progress too if one believes our lives are interrelated with technology.  This panel led by the IPv6 Forum tells how.
