The Succession Planning Committee for 2008 has been formed.  Co-Chairs are:

                Chris Vonwiller, Director, Appen Pty., Ltd. Australia

As an independent committee under the Advisory Council, the SPC conducts the election process for seats on the Board of Governors (BG) and Advisory Council (AC).  Voting is by electronic ballot received by an independent accounting firm that tallies and certifies the results. This year's election includes half of the seats on both the BG and AC for terms beginning January 2009.

Grahame Lynch, Editor and Publisher, CommsDay, and a moderator during the PTC Mid-year Seminar, has provided two reports on the event.   The first report features undersea cable developments and addresses fears of another potential bubble with Keynote speaker, Byron Clatterbuck, Tata Communications. The second report highlights key points made by featured participants in several sessions including views on capacity and the strain especially of video uploads.

PTC will award research prizes for the best student and the best overall participant research papers at PTC'09.
