Q: What are the hours for onsite registration?

Travel


Q: What is the weather like in Honolulu in January?

The average high temperature in January is 80°F / 27°C. The average low temperature is 66°F / 19°C. Passing rain showers are common in Honolulu in January.

Q: What transportation options are available between the airport and the Hilton Hawaiian Village?

Two of the most popular modes of transportation between the airport and the hotel are shuttles and taxis.

  • Shuttle service costs start at $10 per person. The total travel time on a shuttle varies based on the total number of passengers and their destinations.
  • The fare for a taxi is approximately $50. Total travel time via taxi is usually 20–30 minutes.
  • Both airport shuttles and taxis are available outside of baggage claim.

Q: How long does it take to process a visa application?

The U.S. Department of State recommends that visa applications be submitted four to five months in advance, as delays are expected.

Please allow ample time to obtain a visa before your planned travel to PTC’13. Visa applications are now subject to a greater degree of scrutiny than in the past.

Dress Code


Q: What is the dress code for PTC’13?

The dress code for PTC’13 is business casual. As such, business suits are not necessary. Attendees are, however, encouraged to wear aloha shirts.

Please be aware that the temperature in the session rooms is often much cooler than the temperature outdoors. Therefore, a sweater or light jacket is recommended.

Guests


Q: Are guests permitted to attend PTC functions?

Guests are welcome to attend the Opening Reception and the Tuesday Evening Reception provided that guest tickets have been purchased for the events.

A guest is defined as a spouse, significant other, friend, or an adult daughter or son (21 years of age or older). Children, defined as persons under 21 years old, are not allowed to attend any PTC functions. If you wish to arrange for childcare, please contact the hotel concierge regarding the Camp Penguin Program.

Q: What is the Camp Penguin Program?

Camp Penguin is a service provided by the Hilton Hawaiian Village® Waikiki Beach Resort that provides a fun, safe environment for guests aged 5–12. Full- and half-day programs are available Sunday through Saturday. Activities relating to Hawaiian culture are scheduled for each day. Please contact the Hilton Hawaiian Village® Waikiki Beach Resort at +1.808.942.2267 for more information or sign up at the activities director’s desk in the main lobby.

Conference Secretariat


Q: Where is the PTC Secretariat located during the Conference?

The PTC Secretariat is located in Sea Pearl I, II, and III in the Mid-Pacific Conference Center.

Financial Assistance


Q: Is financial assistance available?

Assistance funds are made available to qualified participants through donations from PTC members and other sources.

Q: Where is Lost and Found located at PTC’13?

Q: How can I exchange messages with my fellow conference attendees?

Email messages may be left on the meeting scheduling system.

Q: How can I arrange a press conference at PTC’13?

Technology


Q: What are the Cyberstations?

The Cyberstations provide PTC registrants access to the Internet and the online meeting scheduling system. Cyberstations may be used to contact and arrange meetings with fellow attendees as well as to reserve cubicles and meeting tables in the PTC Pavilion.

Internet Access


Q: Where can I access the Internet while at the Hilton Hawaiian Village® Waikiki Beach Resort?

Your PTC’13 registration includes wireless Internet access in the public areas of the Hilton Hawaiian Village® Waikiki Beach Resort (i.e., Super Pool, Tapa Pool, Tapa Bar, and Starbucks) as well as wired and wireless Internet in your sleeping room, if you are staying at the Hilton.
