Two new awards for excellence in telecommunications research at PTC’08!

O.S. Braunstein Prize
and
Meheroo Jussawalla Research Paper Prize

PTC is pleased to announce two special named awards for excellence in telecommunications research:  The “O.S. Braunstein Prize” for best student research paper and the “Meheroo Jussawalla Research Paper Prize” for best overall participant research paper at PTC’08. 

The O.S Braunstein Prize includes a $500 cash award, conference registration waiver and up to $1000 for travel and accommodations to present at PTC’08.  This award is open only to current or graduating students (2007 or later graduation date) for original research papers on a topic relevant to the PTC’08 theme.  Verification of student status is required.

The Meheroo Jussawalla Research Paper Prize is a cash award of $1000 for the best overall research paper at PTC’08 and is open to all participants with an accepted research paper proposal for conference participation. 

Award recipients will be acknowledged at PTC’08 in a special ceremony and will present their papers in an appropriate session.

Submission:

Research papers for award consideration should be submitted in the same manner as all proposals for PTC’08 with same deadline of 25 June.  A complete abstract is sufficient for proposal consideration, although you may also submit a draft paper up to 10 pages at this stage with an emphasis on points of analysis and conclusions, not introduction and background.  Indicate that this is a research paper proposal to also be considered for an award. 

Only accepted proposals will be subsequently considered for an award.
After notification of acceptance, full papers must be received by 10 September.

Notification of proposal acceptance decision is by late July.  If your proposal is accepted for conference participation, you will be required to submit the full research paper by 10 September 2007 for award review.  Awards will be adjudicated through a blind peer review process.  Only complete research papers will be considered and may not be previously published.
