Aqua Comms Achieves World-Leading Performance in WaveLogic 6 Trial, Setting New Standards for Subsea Connectivity

Aqua Comms and Ciena achieved record-breaking milestones with the first 1.3 Tb/s wavelength transmission across 5500km of the Atlantic using Ciena’s WaveLogic 6 Extreme (WL6e) and an 800 Gb/s transmission spanning 11,000km. These advances boost capacity, cut power use by 50%, and align with Aqua Comms’ goal of 100% renewable energy by 2030.
