To enhance awareness of the latest trends and advancements in digital infrastructure, telecommunications, and ICT, the Pacific Telecommunications Council (PTC) offers support to individuals and organizations facing financial difficulties in participating in the Annual Conference. This assistance is funded through member donations and other contributions. PTC aims to help as many eligible applicants as possible, with a primary focus on participants from developing countries and academics in the Asia-Pacific region. The following factors will be considered when applications are reviewed (in order of priority):
- Financial need
- Moderator or panelist
- Benefits to PTC
- Benefits to digital infrastructure, telecommunications, and ICT development
- Assistance given in past
- Economic status of country
- Membership in PTC affiliated chapters or organizations (e.g. PITA)
- Requested assistance amount
Applicants who have received assistance to attend two of the last four conferences will have a lower priority. PTC encourages applicants to seek supplemental assistance from other sources, as only partial support may be provided.
Meheroo Jussawalla Research Prize Award recipients and PTC Emerging Scholars are ineligible for financial assistance the year they participate in these programs.
