PTC is pleased to present the PTC Honorary Individual Lifetime Membership to recognize the value of a PTC Member who has provided exceptional service to the organization over a significant period of time.

Guidelines

Guidelines

  1. PTC Members and Secretariat may make a nomination.
  2. Honorary Individual Lifetime memberships may be given annually if there are suitable candidates. If no candidates meet the criteria, Honorary Individual Lifetime membership may not be made for that year.
  3. The selected candidate(s) may be a current or former staff member of PTC, or a current member of PTC, or volunteer.
  4. Selected candidates may receive recognition at a Conference event such as the Members’ Soiree, receive a certificate, and ribbon on their Annual Conference Badge. (Note: recipient is responsible for travel expenses)
  5. The recipient will not have to give up membership under their current employer to accept this honor and will still be able to list their current employer on their badge etc. However, the lifetime fee waiver will only be applied to their dues invoice when they are ready to move to an individual membership.

Criteria

  1. The individual will not only have contributed for a significant number of years but also a significant contribution to the organization as a whole:
    1. PTC membership over 20 years (over not consecutive) or
    2. Attendance at 15 or more Annual Conferences
    3. As well as “contributed over a considerable period to PTC”
  2. Qualifying service could include contributions as a staff member, Board Member, Advisory Council Member, or otherwise as a PTC Member or volunteer contributing to the activities of PTC, including contributing to the development and monitoring of programs.

Process

  1. Nominations may be made online by any PTC member and staff. Self-nominations are acceptable.
  2. The opportunity to nominate will be posted on the PTC website and communicated to members via Touchpoints.
  3. Nominators are requested to explain how the nominee meets the published criteria and provide specific examples of how the nominee has contributed to PTC.
  4. Nominations must be submitted through the online form no later than 15 September for consideration.

Approval of Honorary Individual Lifetime Membership

  1. Nominations will be vetted by the PTC Honors Committee, which will make a recommendation to the Board of Governors with respect to proposed Honorary Individual Lifetime membership.
  2. The PTC Honors Committee will have the option of not recommending the award of Honorary Individual Lifetime Membership if it concludes a nominee does not meet the award criteria. The committee will attempt to make its decision by consensus. If consensus is not achieved, the committee may refer a decision on a specific nomination to the Board of Governors.
  3. The Board of Governors has the final responsibility and authority to approve or not approve Honorary Individual Lifetime memberships, bearing in mind the recommendation of the Honors Committee.
  4. The Board may approve more than one candidate for Honorary Individual Lifetime Membership in any given year.
