PTC: What technology breakthrough would pave the way for the ICT industry?
AR: The most impactful breakthrough for the industry would be highly energy-efficient technologies designed for AI-driven workloads. AI’s rapid expansion is pushing power consumption to new heights, and this trajectory requires innovations such as low-power AI chips, next-generation cooling, and intelligent energy optimization systems that enable data centers to deliver greater computational capacity while significantly reducing their environmental footprint. Ultimately, sustainable energy efficiency is the foundation for the industry’s future growth.
PTC: How can corporations and researchers best serve the next generation?
AR: Corporations can best serve the next generation by committing to meaningful sustainability and responsible growth. Young people will inherit the results of today’s decisions, so businesses must reduce their environmental footprint, invest in cleaner technologies, and use resources responsibly. Equally important is creating pathways for young people through education, training, and genuine opportunities. By prioritizing long-term impact over short-term gains, corporations can help secure a healthier planet, and a more resilient future for the next generation.
PTC: If one thing should be redeveloped within the telecom and related industries, what should it be?
AR: The disconnect between energy planning and data center development would be a key area for redevelopment. Today, data centers are growing faster than the energy infrastructure that supports them, creating delays, higher costs, and inconsistent reliability across regions. A more integrated approach where power availability, renewable sourcing, and data center design are planned together from the start would accelerate deployments, reduce operational risk, and create more sustainable, scalable capacity. This alignment would let us deliver clearer timelines, predictable scalability, and stronger value for customers.
PTC: How does PTC fit with your company’s goals or your overall career purpose?
AR: PTC aligns directly with Galaxy Data Centers’ mission and with my own professional purpose. Our goal is to unlock capacity for customers in the markets where it’s most needed. PTC provides an unparalleled forum to engage with industry leaders, emerging innovators, and strategic partners who influence where and how that capacity gets built. It’s an environment where meaningful collaboration happens, allowing us to anticipate market shifts, advance new solutions, and strengthen the ecosystem that supports our customers’ growth.
PTC: What vital piece of information should people know about PTC?
AR: While PTC’s Annual Conference is widely recognized across the industry (and Galaxy is proud to attend and support it), the organization offers far more than its flagship event in Hawaiʻi. Throughout the year, PTC provides valuable opportunities through its PTC’DC mid-year conference, member receptions, ongoing online networking events, newsletters, and more. Together, these programs make PTC a year-round partner for advancing our industry and strengthening connections across the global telecom community.
PTC: What advice would you share with current and future graduates interested in this field?
AR: My advice to future generations interested in digital infrastructure is to surround yourself with mentors; this industry is full of people who genuinely want to help you grow and succeed. Secondly, don’t let perfection stand in the way of progress. The data center and telecom sectors evolve rapidly, and real success comes from moving forward with continuous learning and adapting, rather than waiting to have every detail figured out. Above all, stay curious. When you keep exploring, building connections, and staying in motion, you’ll discover that this industry doesn’t just offer a career—it offers an opportunity to create something meaningful, impactful, and lasting.
PTC: What is something that not that many people know about you?
AR: I’m passionate about developing young talent and helping people recognize and fulfill their potential. I’ve had the privilege of learning from exceptional leaders throughout my career, and those experiences have equipped me to give back — whether that’s supporting emerging professionals in our industry or mentoring individuals on their own unique paths. Investing in the next generation isn’t just personally rewarding; it strengthens our entire ecosystem and ensures we continue to grow with capable and confident leaders.
