VP of Business Development,
Red Mountain Solution Inc.

Can Zhao serves as VP of Business Development at Red Mountain Solution Inc. With a background as a data center developer delivering 800MW of greenfield capacity and operating facilities in ERCOT, Can offers a unique advantage to her clients. She uses her technical and market insights to deliver strategic power solutions, focusing on substation transformers and generators that ensure scalability and uptime.

PTC: What technology breakthrough would pave the way for the ICT industry?

CZ: The breakthrough most needed is the commoditization of high-voltage (HV) infrastructure with accelerated production cycles. As the industry pushes toward 1GW scales, the primary bottleneck is no longer just fiber, but power delivery. Standardizing highly reliable HV equipment to provide fast lead times will allow developers to bypass multi-year utility delays. This, combined with modular “behind-the-meter” energy integration, will redefine how quickly we can deploy AI-ready capacity globally.

PTC: Is it important for companies to continue to innovate their organization or offerings, and why?

CZ: Yes, innovation is essential for overcoming the physical and environmental constraints of modern infrastructure development. At Red Mountain, we believe innovation must focus on the supply chain—moving beyond traditional procurement to offer highly reliable equipment with fast lead times that meet the 1GW demands of the market. Failing to innovate these offerings means falling behind the rapid scaling requirements of the AI era, where time-to-market is the ultimate competitive advantage.

PTC: What network-related development will have the greatest impact in our industry?

CZ: The development of autonomous energy-network clusters will have the greatest impact. Our experience in the ERCOT market demonstrates that network uptime is fundamentally tied to the reliability of the underlying HV infrastructure. Integrating highly reliable power equipment with fast-deployment capabilities allows for the creation of 1GW sites that are both resilient and scalable. This synergy between power reliability and network connectivity will be the cornerstone of future digital growth.

PTC: What value does PTC hold for you/your company?

CZ: PTC’s Annual Conference provides Red Mountain with a premier platform to engage with global leaders on the critical need for resilient infrastructure. The value lies in discussing how 1GW-scale projects can be realized through highly reliable HV equipment and faster lead times, which are essential for the growing demands of the Pacific Rim and North American markets.

PTC: How does PTC fit your company’s goals or career purpose?

CZ: PTC aligns with our goal to be the leading developer of vertically integrated, 1GW-scale data center ecosystems. My career purpose is centered on scaling the physical infrastructure that powers the digital world, and PTC provides the network to advance the deployment of reliable power systems that drive global connectivity.

PTC: What advice would you share with current and future graduates interested in this field?

CZ: Understand the “bones” of the internet. While software is vital, the industry’s greatest challenge is the physical layer: building 1GW facilities and managing high-voltage (HV) infrastructure. Focus on learning how to navigate the supply chain and engineering constraints that determine lead times and reliability, as these are the real drivers of the cloud’s growth.

PTC: What is something that not many people know about you?

CZ: To balance the high-stakes environment of 1GW infrastructure deals, I prioritize physical discipline. I am a dedicated Pilates practitioner and an avid skier and snowboarder, frequently visiting Mammoth Mountain. I also recently took up surfing to stay active and focused while traveling for business.
