Global carrier SG.GS has announced a major expansion of its Australian infrastructure, adding a new Point of Presence (PoP) in Melbourne and densifying its Sydney and Perth footprints. The move bridges the gap between Australia and high-growth Southeast Asian markets like Singapore, Jakarta, and Manila.

SVP Ben Cooper noted that the expansion supports record growth in services trade, which hit 134bn AUD in 2025. By implementing Layer 1 infrastructure and diverse subsea routes, SG.GS offers resilient, low-latency connectivity to facilitate deeper integration between Australian enterprises and Asian supply chains.
