Andrew Lindsey is the co-Founder and Chief Executive Officer of Flexnode, a digital infrastructure company delivering the next generation of modular, high-performance, liquid-cooled data center solutions for AI-ready, go-anywhere compute capacity. At Flexnode, Andrew collaborates with industry-leading colleagues and best-in-class strategic partners to design, build, and operate data centers that meet rapidly growing global demand at both the network core and edge. Previously, he served as Director of Applied Research and Development at Alpha Corporation, supporting mission-critical, high-security, and modular solutions. Throughout his career, he has worked across media, healthcare, education, and the built environment.
PTC: What technology breakthrough would pave the way for the ICT industry?
AL: One of the most significant breakthroughs for the ICT industry will be the ability to deploy distributed data center infrastructure at scale. As we move deeper into an AI-driven world, particularly around AI inference, the demand for compute resources closer to the edge is growing rapidly. The fundamental shift will occur when we can empower every construction company to become a data center builder and enable all sites to become viable data center locations. Our Flexnodes are purpose-built to support this evolution, offering modular, scalable, and rapidly deployable data centers that make high-performance infrastructure accessible almost anywhere.
PTC: How can corporations and researchers best serve the next generation?
AL: Corporations and researchers can best serve the next generation by rethinking how energy and data infrastructure are developed together, not just at the core in the 500 MW sites, but also at the 2, 10, and 20 MW sites. Instead of building these systems in silos, we need integrated approaches that prioritize community impact, regulatory support, and cost-efficiency. If researchers and corporations collaborate to deliver infrastructure that benefits not only enterprises but also underserved communities, the result will be more inclusive and resilient growth.
PTC: Is it important for companies to continue to innovate their organization or offerings, and why?
AL: Absolutely! Innovation is no longer optional; it’s essential for survival. We’re seeing constant disruption from companies like NVIDIA and major shifts happening simultaneously across construction, real estate, and IT. The pace of change is accelerating exponentially, and staying relevant means being willing and able to evolve through flexible and scalable infrastructure deployments.
What’s exciting about Flexnode is that we give companies a way to innovate without needing to pour massive resources into R&D. Our flexible modular data center systems allow organizations to modernize their infrastructure and adapt in real time to changing demands faster and more cost-effectively. If you’re not innovating, you’re falling behind. There’s no middle ground.
PTC: What value does PTC hold for you/your company?
AL: PTC serves as an excellent platform for Flexnode, offering a host of opportunities to engage with global telecom leaders to collaborate on forward-thinking projects, tap into industry insights, and enhance our professional networks. The Annual Conference’s emphasis on digital infrastructure, AI-driven applications, and cloud-based solutions aligns with our mission to revolutionize data center deployment. PTC helps us stay at the center of industry trends, so we can ensure that our solutions meet the needs of the world today and tomorrow.
PTC: How does PTC fit your company’s goals or career purpose?
AL: At Flexnode, our focus is on transforming the way digital infrastructure is integrated into the built environment, making it more agile and responsive to the needs of modern applications, such as AI and real-time data processing. That vision aligns directly with PTC’s focus on advancing global connectivity and fostering meaningful collaboration across the digital ecosystem.
PTC supports our mission by bringing together the key players across telecom, energy, and cloud infrastructure industries – ones that rarely move in sync but are now deeply interconnected. We can have meaningful conversations with partners and decision-makers who understand the urgency of the problem we’re addressing: power limitations, location constraints, and the need for faster, smarter deployments. That alignment helps us, and the PTC network through collaboration, to sharpen our strategy and stay focused on building what the industry actually needs next.
PTC: What advice would you share with current and future graduates interested in this field?
AL: Don’t give up on your dreams. If there’s something that keeps tugging at your heart, follow it, even if the path looks unconventional. I left college early and came back later, not because it was easy, but because I’d made a promise to myself and my family. Our industry needs people with conviction and curiosity, not perfect resumes. So, if you’re passionate about digital infrastructure, lean into that. Your background doesn’t have to be perfect; your drive matters more.
PTC: What is something not that many people know about you?
AL: I grew up in the construction industry. My family started a company called Alpha back in 1979. I spent years avoiding that path, only to find myself right back in it, but with a new lens. That legacy helped shape how I see infrastructure, and it’s been incredible to take those roots and apply them to something as forward-looking as Flexnode. We’re not just building modular data centers, we’re rethinking how infrastructure gets designed, deployed, and integrated into the fabric of communities. It feels like a natural evolution of everything I grew up around, built for the digital age.
