Pacific Telecommunications Council (PTC) is furiously planning its 43rd Annual Conference: PTC’21: New Realities, to be held in Honolulu, Hawaii, from 17 to 20 January 2021 and we’d like to invite you to not just attend but to speak!

This year, the conference theme focuses on the changes going on in our industry: the new realities of a world subject to pandemics and natural disasters, and with major strategic shifts in the industry due to mergers and acquisitions, new deployments such as 5G and low-earth orbital satellites, global capacity growth, and shifting macroeconomic conditions.

The conference brings together industry leaders from across the ICT ecosystem in areas such as subsea cable, satellite, wireless, data centers, and over-the-top services and apps, as well as academics, researchers, industry analysts, students, and regulators in those fields.

Suggested topics span virtually every corner of the information and communications domain. They include:

  • Network technologies, equipment, and services, such as 5G or SD-WAN
  • Network applications, such as social media, e-Health, humanitarian relief, and streaming entertainment
  • Enabling technologies, such as AI, data centers, cloud, and edge computing
  • Business and customer perspectives, such as financing, new business models, and shifting customer needs
  • Pacific region and development, such as ICT for development and Pacific-focused challenges
  • Regulation, policy, and ethics, including spectrum policies, ESG, privacy, and security
  • Other relevant topics, including cross-disciplinary insights

The conference has a wide variety of formats, to suit every speaker and member of the audience. For topics of broad general interest and significance, there are the Center Stage presentations. For ones that are more focused to particular niches, there are topical sessions and panels, workshops, and roundtable discussions. Researchers and academics are also invited to submit papers, which will be considered for the PTC Research Awards. More details regarding the awards are available at ptc.org/research-awards.

The PTC HUB Lightning Talks were introduced last year and are back this year by popular demand. They are rapid, 10-minute talks on a variety of topics, open to the public, in an informal setting in the PTC HUB, where exhibitor booths, lunches, networking breaks, and opportunities to meet exist.

If you would like to share your insights, please consider submitting a proposal at ptc.org/cfp by 10 July 2020. It takes just minutes, and it’s a unique chance to help shape the future of our industry. Proposals will be evaluated by the program committee and proposers will be notified by the end of August.

Come join the distinguished list of past speakers at PTC, including CEOs and CXOs of blue-chip firms and disruptive start-ups, leading industry luminaries and thought leaders, top global regulators, prominent academics, and elite industry and financial analysts. Looking forward to seeing you in Honolulu this coming January at PTC’21!
