PTC Distinguished Service Award

PTC established the Richard J. Barber PTC Distinguished Service Award to recognize the value of a member, staff person, or volunteer who has provided exceptional service to PTC over a significant period of time.
The award is named in honor of Richard J. Barber (1936–2014), PTC’s founding executive director.
Previous award recipients include Dick Barber, Bruce Drake, Chris Vonwiller, Meheroo Jussawalla, Dan J. Wedemeyer, Sharon Nakama, Robert Walp, Tara Giunta, John Hibbard, Klaus Gueldenpfennig, Tim Logue, Mark Hukill, and Heather Hudson.
2022 Award Recipient
PTC is pleased to congratulate Dr. Elizabeth Fife as the 2022 Richard J. Barber PTC Distinguished Service Award recipient, in recognition of her service as the co-chair of the PTC Research Committee and the ICT4D Special Interest Group for over a decade, as well as her role mentoring the PTC Young Scholars.
Nomination Review Process
Nominations are vetted by the PTC Honors Committee, which makes a recommendation to the Board of Governors for approval.
2021 Award Recipient
The 2021 Richard J. Barber PTC Distinguished Service Award will be presented during PTC’21: New Realities in January 2021.
The award includes high-profile recognition at PTC’s Annual Conference along with a certificate and gift.
