TE SubCom and Google today announced that TE SubCom has been awarded the contract for the Curie Submarine Cable, which will connect Los Angeles, California to Valpariso, Chile. Named in honor of the two-time Nobel Prize winning physicist and chemist Marie Curie, the four fiber-pair system will span over 10,000 km and will include a branching unit for future connectivity to Panama.
