There are several technologies that will be the benchmark for future advancement of the ICT industry. This includes 5G networks and the development of future generations of wireless technology; AI and machine learning technologies will continue to advance and open new opportunities in areas such as healthcare, finance, and manufacturing; Internet of Things is already revolutionizing many industries from agriculture to logistics; and blockchain technology, which has the potential to disrupt a wide range of industries.

A combination of these and other emerging technologies will shape the future of the ICT industry and pave the way for new opportunities and innovations. As technology continues to mature and new applications are developed, it could fundamentally change the way businesses operate, compared to today.

How can telecommunications technologies help humanity?

We have numerous first-hand experience in installing fiber-optic cable systems in some of the most rural locations on the planet. From our experience, telecommunications technologies play a crucial role in helping humanity, particularly in rural communities.

This includes improved access to information; assisting people in rural communities to stay connected with friends, family, businesses, government agencies, and healthcare providers; helping to reduce social isolation; and allowing access to services that may not be available locally.

Overall, telecommunications technologies have already started to bridge the global digital divide, and provide rural communities with greater access to information, services, and economic opportunities, improving their overall quality of life.

What has been a positive outcome organizationally or individually given the current state of the world?

One positive outcome, both organizationally and individually, given the current state of the world is the accelerated adoption and integration of technology in various aspects of life. The COVID-19 pandemic forced individuals, businesses, and governments to adapt quickly to the new reality, and technology played a vital role in facilitating this adaptation.

While the pandemic presented significant challenges, it also accelerated the adoption of technological solutions. These positive outcomes may continue to shape how we live, work, and interact in the post-pandemic world.
